NVIDIA (NVDA) will report its fourth quarter results after today's closing bell with management's conference call set to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET. 

The Capital IQ consensus expects the company to report a year-over-year earnings contraction of 56.4% to $0.75 per share on a 22.6% year-over-year decline in revenue to $2.25 billion. 

Expectations for NVIDIA have been softened since the company reported third quarter results in mid-November. Shares of NVIDIA fell in response to the last quarterly report and they have remained predominantly in a sideways range after the company cut its outlook.

NVIDIA's inventory ballooned to $1.42 billion in the third quarter from $1.09 billion in the second quarter.
