Alphabet (GOOG) is set to issue Q2 results after the close tonight. A conference call is slated to begin at 4:30 ET. The company does not provide financial guidance. Therefore, GOOG's financial results typically stray far from analysts' expectations. 

Last quarter, GOOG missed on the bottom line by $1.22. In Q4, the company blew out the EPS consensus estimate by $2.59.

For this quarter, consensus estimates stand at EPS of $8.23 and revenue of $37.3 bln, equating to a projected yr/yr decline of 4%.
