Square (SQ) will report its Q1 results after today's closing bell, followed by a conference call at 17:00 ET.

The Capital IQ consensus expects the payment processing company to report EPS of $0.16, up from a loss of $0.02 a yr ago. Revenue is expected to be up 142.0% yr/yr to $3.34 bln.

Square will likely to comment about an increase in transactions at physical retailers as reopening efforts accelerated.

Cryptocurrency-related revenue is likely to be a notable contributor to overall results.

Square trades at 157.3x forward earnings expectations, which is a premium to PayPal.
