After the close, Google parent company Alphabet (GOOG) is set to report 3Q21 results with a conference call to follow at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Analysts are expecting the internet giant to report EPS and revenue of $23.24 and $63.2 bln, respectively. GOOG traditionally has not provided specific forward guidance for EPS or revenue.

Last quarter, revenue surged by 61.6%, up from 34.4% in Q1 and 23.5% in 4Q20. While Q2 growth was robust across each of GOOG's segments, YouTube Ad revenue was a standout, up 84% yr/yr to $7.0 bln.

TECHS:

GOOG is up 5% since the end of September. Expectations remain elevated, but GOOG's recent track record suggests that analysts have greatly underestimated its momentum.

GOOG sits right on a trend line into the print.
