Alphabet (GOOG) will report Q3 results after today's close, followed by a 4:30 p.m. ET call.

FactSet projects EPS at $1.84 and revenue at $86.39 billion.

GOOG's report offers insight into digital advertising, influencing expectations for Meta and Pinterest reports next week. Snap also reports tonight.

Last quarter, total Google Advertising revenue grew by 11% yr/yr to $64.62 bln, driven by a 13.8% increase in Google Search revenue to $48.5 bln and YouTube ads revenue growth of 13% to $8.66 bln.

On the topic of AI, GOOG is expected to release the next major version of its AI model, Gemini 2.0, this coming December. That will be an eventful month for GOOG, because the company may also introduce a new computer using agent called Jarvis in December.

Google Cloud grew 29% in Q2, and tight cost control boosted GOOG’s operating margin. Shares are up 12% since mid-September, with GOOG beating expectations for six quarters. DOJ monopoly concerns may be mentioned on the call but likely without major updates.

TECHS:

Last quarter, Google Advertising rose 11% year-over-year, with AI driving engagement. Anticipated December launches include the Gemini 2.0 AI model and "Jarvis" AI agent.
