Azure and Segment Reorganization:
Azure, MSFT’s key segment, grew 30% in Q4 (June), slightly under expectations, especially in Europe, with current Q1 guidance at +28-29% constant currency. This is also MSFT’s first report under new segment realignments.
FY25 Growth and Capex Plans:
MSFT anticipates double-digit revenue and operating income growth for FY25, along with increased capex to support AI and cloud expansion, potentially affecting margins due to higher data center and server costs.
Historical Performance:
Microsoft has exceeded EPS estimates in 21 of the last 22 quarters, though recent earnings have been less dramatic. MSFT is also on a six-quarter revenue beat streak.
TECHS:
Microsoft’s stock has remained in the $390-465 range since January but has been trending up since August.
